Ann Johns Ruckert has produced, played and/or sung on over 3,000 commercially released recordings. She has worked with Michel LeGrand, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Merry Clayton, Sarah Dash, Quincy Jones, T Rex, and Strawbs, and has been the musical coordinator for major motion pictures and TV soundtracks, such as Housesitter with Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn, Boys on the Side with Whoopi Goldberg, and Lovesick with Dudley Moore. Internationally known as a musician's musician, Ann studied orchestration and composition at Juilliard and London's Royal Academy of Music. She furthered her education by completing a degree in ethnomusicology at New York University graduate school. She runs the production and management company, Wisner Ruckert & Associates, with Jimmy "the wiz" Wisner, and has developed a record label, 13 Stories Records, Inc., with partners Brian Muni and James Rohler to support singer/songwriters. Ann was chairman of the Board of Directors and acting Executive Director of the Jazz Museum for a period of time, was on the board of Jazz Mobile for close to 20 years, and has been actively involved with NARAS, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and World Hunger Year.
