Master guitarist Stephen Blum has performed around the world, appearing at the Montreal Jazz Festival, The Great American Music Hall, Yoshi’s (SF), French Quarter Festival (New Orleans), Smalls (NYC), and SESC Concerts (Sao Paulo). Born in NYC, he began playing professionally at 15. Soon after, he received a scholarship to the ground-breaking ""N.Y. School of Jazz,” funded by Duke Ellington and the New York Arts Society. While attending the University of Miami, Blum went on tour with singer Peggy Lee, during her 1960s-70s Capitol Records sojourn. They played such important venues as Central Park’s Main Stage and Madison Square Garden, as well as NBC Television and radio broadcasts. Blum has done session work at top-notch studios; served as musical director for Morgana King; and worked with legends Louis Bellson, Toots Thielemans, and Joe Williams.
