Hurley Blanchard drummer, percussionist and educator born in New Orleans who first became interested in music in elementary school but it was in the 10th grade that he began to consider music as a career due to inspiration by New Orleans drum legends Smokey Johnson, Joseph ""Zigaboo"" Modeliste, June Gardner, and later in college under the tutelage and mentorship of Sir Edward ""Kidd"" Jordan. Blanchard has performed and toured extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, Japan, and South American with local and national artist. Currently a retired music teacher from the Orleans Parish School System and when not performing his craft he teaches music to students privately and at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music.
