West Harlem Piers | Free
The Jazz Foundation is proud to present Mel Davis and Friends at the West Harlem Piers on May 23rd!
An acclaimed keyboardist, vocalist, composer, and bandleader, Melvin Davis has had an impressive four-decade career. Davis was originally a pianist, but an industrial accident 30 years ago limited the use of one hand and forced him to focus on the Hammond B3 organ, on which he became a go-to accompanist for such high-profile artists as George Benson, Ronny Jordan and Lonnie Youngblood. He has been celebrated by multiple jazz societies in his home state of New Jersey, and is a regular in Harlem clubs.
