JAZZ FOUNDATION OF AMERICA REMEMBERS QUINCY JONES

November 7, 2024 –

The Jazz Foundation of America is heartbroken at the loss of Quincy Jones, a member of our Honorary Founders Board for 20 years. We send our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Quincy gave JFA endless support, confidence and motivation. His devotion to and affection for musicians set a standard for all of us in honoring the legacy of jazz and blues. He was a guiding light and will remain a presiding spirit. In 2023, we named the Quincy Jones Love and Peace Humanitarian Award for him as no one defines the principles of compassion, generosity, creativity and understanding that we strive to embody at JFA more than him.

Quincy’s genius for connecting from the heart and communicating in the universal language of music is a marvel that will be studied and aspired to forever. We are eternally in his debt and will carry on our work in his memory, following his inspirational example.
