Jazz Foundation of America presents live weekly concerts free to the public from the New Orleans Jazz Museum. You can see them every Wednesday in person or on our Facebook and Youtube pages. You are now able to attend these performances at the Jazz Museum in New Orleans. These series are also carried on Off Beat Magazine and Louisiana Music Factory Facebook pages. For this week's performance the Jazz Foundation of America is proud to present:
December 6th, 2023
Jason Mingledorff
Jason Mingledorff is a Grammy winning musician and has been one of New Orleans’ most versatile and in-demand saxophonists for close to 3 decades. While national audiences have enjoyed hearing Jason play with some of their favorite acts (including St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Clint Black, The New Mastersounds, and The O’Jays), it is Jason’s almost 30 years of work with some of New Orleans’ most beloved artists (including Dr. John, Harry Connick, Jr., Papa Grows Funk, New Orleans Nightcrawlers, Galactic, and Better Than Ezra) that has endeared him to fans throughout the world. After appearing on over 100 recordings, Jason finally released his debut album, Start It!, in May, 2023. It features nine original jazz compositions and showcases Jason’s melodic writing and bluesy, full-toned tenor saxophone playing. Jason has brought together some of New Orleans’ most respected and talented musicians for this project, including guitarist Brian Seeger, pianist Joe Ashlar, bassist Ed Wise, and drummer Doug Garrison. We are looking forward to bringing this quintet to the Jazz Museum for their Jazz Foundation of America Concert Series on Wednesday, December 6th.
