Bassist Cucho Martinez, originally a specialist on the maracas, has long made a name for himself in Latin jazz, having worked with many important artists including Horace Silver and Mongo Santamaria. On the occasion of International Jazz Day, this show celebrates Martinez's 50-year partnership with the late, great percussionist Ray Mantilla, and features a sextet of longtime members of Mantilla's groups.
